Pe'amen art installation

Pe'amen art installation was a collaborative labor of love with help from Mira Clark, Ruth Chase, Dani Joy and A. I could not have expressed myself in this way without their input and experience. I really enjoyed the creative process and was surprised to feel that the pieces honored a piece of my Culture in what seems to be a simplistic way.

The loss of language and Culture as my family members were "civilized" remains a subject that's yet to be fully resolved within myself. But moments like this shine a spotlight on the unbroken pieces and that makes me feel proud and hopeful.

Teighlor Renée was part of last year's Visibility Through Art project and created six pieces that inspired my work. Prints of her work, and a gorgeous set of cards are available in the CHIRP online store.
